Stolen Catholic Church relic recovered in Monroe Co.

VONORE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Police arrested a woman in connection with the theft of a painting blessed by Pope Leon XIII in the late 19thcentury.

Police allege Kelly Ghormley stole the priceless art from a Monroe County man.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office lured Ghormley to Saint Joseph the Worker Church by telling her the painting had a buyer.

Police arrested her at the church and charged her with theft over $60,000.
