Suspect arrested for robbing three Knoxville businesses within a week

Police say a man has been arrested for robbing three businesses within the last week.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Police say a man has been arrested for robbing three businesses within the last week.

25-year-old Johnathan W. Ray was arrested Thursday by members of East Sector Patrol, the Repeat Offender Squad, the Organized Crime Unit, and the Criminal Investigative Division.

He is accused of robbing Walgreens on N. Broadway late last Thursday. He is also suspected of robbing CVS on N. Broadway and Subway in the Walmart on Walbrook Drive on Wednesday.

Officers say a pellet gun used during the crimes was also found.

Ray has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Robbery and will be charged with the Aggravated Robbery of the CVS.

He is currently being held on an $80,000 bond.

Additional charges could be placed as the investigation continues.
