KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A suspected carjacking lands a thirty year-old man behind bars Thursday morning after police track him down at the home of one of his relatives, a Knoxville Police Department spokesperson explained.
He said police had to use a loudspeaker to convince Brandon Rogers, 30, to come outside. He was then arrested and faces one count of Robbery.
The victim, Justin Deel, told police he was giving Rogers a ride,as he had several times before, when Rogers asked to stop by his mother's house on Cecil Ave. for gas money. After stopping, Deel claims Rogers said he couldn't give him any gas money.
When Deel then told Rogers he could only take him halfway, he claims Rogers attacked him. The fight spilled out onto the street and Rogers managed to get back in the car and take off.
The car was found at the corner of 7th Street and Cecil Ave.
