Sweetwater stabbing sends one to jail

SWEETWATER, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Sweetwater man was arrested following an early morning stabbing in an apartment above a local video store, the Monroe Co. Sheriff's Office reported on Tuesday.

Jonjathan T. Loomis, of Sweetwater, was charged with Aggravated Assault, officials said. He is currently being held at Monroe Co. jail.

Shortly before 5:30 a.m., an officer from the Monroe Co. Sheriff's Office responded to the Maxx Video Apartments, Hwy. 11 S., on reports that a person was bleeding, authorities said. After determining the stabbing took place within city limits, two Sweetwater police officers were called in.

Following an investigation, police arrested Loomis. The victim, Cameron Plemons was taken to UT Hospital where he was treated for stab wounds.
