TELLICO PLAINS, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A sixteen year-old was arrested on Monday after reportedly bringing a knife to Tellico Plains High School and cutting another teen, according to the Monroe Co. Sheriff's Office.
Authorities said a Monroe Co. School Resource Officer first spotted the sixteen year-old chasing the other teen. The officer heard someone yell that one of the teens had a knife. By the time he caught up with the teens, he saw the one with a knife approach the other teen before taking off and running outside.
The officer yelled for the teen to stop. When he finally stopped running the officer took the teen into custody and recovered the knife.
The other teen was treated for a minor cutting wound on the hand and arm and his father took him to the emergency room.
The sixteen year-old was charged and taken to a juvenile facility.
