Three people charged in two Knoxville armed robberies

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Three people have been arrested for two armed robberies within the last week.

The most recent one happened at the Grocery and Tobacco Market on Maryville Pike around 8:50 PM Monday.

Police say 18-year-old Anthony Smith, of Knoxville, 21-year-old Kaylecia Woodard, of Strawberry Plains, and 18-year-old Timeya Harris, of Knoxville, walked into the store with a gun and left with cash.

They were quickly found in a car on Cook Drive. Officers say found the gun, the clothes they wore, and the stolen money in the car.

All three of them are charged with two counts of Aggravated Robbery.

They're also accused of robbing BJ’s Market on Sutherland Avenue last Thursday around 9:30 PM.
