Three arrested for thefts during high school playoff game

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knox Co.Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of three juveniles believed to be involved in the locker room thefts at Powell High School last Friday night.

The three suspects were rounded up on Wednesday by members of the Sheriff's Office and the Knox Co. Schools Security Division, the Sheriff's Office explained.

Officers reportedly have recovered some of the property, but they haven't said how much. The thieves broke into the Anderson Co. locker room during the Mavericks' 54 to 12 loss to the Powell Panthers.

Anderson County High Athletic Director Gary Terry says after the game, the team went to the Powell locker room and discovered at least eight players were missing hundreds of dollars worth of stuff, including iPods, tennis shoes, athletic wear, and headphones.
