Police searching for 3rd murder suspect in Oak Ridge slaying

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Police have named the third suspect they believe was involved in the killing of an Oak Ridge man in his own home on Monday night. Two men have already been charged with murder of twenty-two year-old Antonio Phillips.

Brandon Javon Brooms is wanted on charges of 1str Degree Murder and Especially Aggravated Robbery, the Oak Ridge Police Dept. said. Officials added that Brooms should be considered armed and dangerous.

Brooms is described as 5'5" about 150 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. Police said his hair may be shorter now. They believe he may be in the Knoxville area.

Anyone with information about his location is asked to call Detective Jack Coleman at 865-425-3433 or 865-755-5558.

Phillips was pronounced dead in his home at the Rolling Hills Apartments shortly before 1:00 a.m. on Monday. Officials said preliminary autopsy results show he was killed by a single gunshot wound.

Investigators have identified three suspects believed to be involved in the killing.

Police arrested an unidentified juvenile in connection with the Phillips' death around 10:00 p.m. Tuesday night. Around 1:00 a.m., officers picked up 22 year-old James Brooms. Both suspects have been charged with Especially Aggravated Robbery and First Degree Felony Murder.
