UT student arrested for shooting out bus window

Police say a University of Tennessee student is accused of shooting at a bus late Friday intersection of 23rd Street and Highland Avenue.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Police say a University of Tennessee student is accused of shooting at a bus late Friday intersection of 23rd Street and Highland Avenue.

Officers say 20-year-old Jack Powers used a BB gun to knock out the rear window of a First Transit, Inc. bus.

UTPD found 20-year-old Jack Powers trying to hide on the roof of a house on Highland Avenue with the gun.

They covered him from the ground wile KPD officers entered the residence and got him off the roof.

Powers was charged with Aggravated Assault, Felony Vandalism, Public Intoxication, Underage Consumption, and Possession of Fraudulant Identification.
