SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Authorities in Jefferson County arrested Karla Charleal Ball on Tuesday, charging her with trying to hire someone to kill her husband, the 4th Judicial District Attorney General announced.
Ball is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday and is facing one count of Solicitation to Commit First Degree Murder.
The charge stems from a tip to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on March 23 which claimed Ball was looking to hire someone to have her husband killed, a statement from the District Attorney General said.
The release described the joint investigation conducted by the TBI, Fourth Judicial Drug Task Force, and the Jefferson City Police Department.
A day after receiving the tip, the District Attorney General says Ball was recorded telling a cooperating witness she wanted to have her husband killed.
On March 29, Ball allegedly met with an undercover agent in the parking lot of Tractor Supply in Jefferson City. There, she is accused of giving him documents regarding one car and promised him another car as well as other items to kill her husband.
