JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) -- Police in Jackson say a driver forced a couple off a road, shot them, then carjacked a family before police apprehended him wounded.
A young woman in the car that was run off the road Tuesday was killed and her companion was wounded. She was 18-year-old Daphne Rose Kenner. The man is 21-year-old Kenneth Price of Jackson, according to the Jackson Sun. He was last reported in critical, but stable condition.
After the shooting, he forced a family out of their van at gunpoint and drove away.
The gunman, who was identified as 18-year-old Tray Chaney, received a minor wound after exchanging gunshots with a Madison County Sheriff's deputy. He was taken to Western State Mental Health Institute in Bolivar for evaluation and charges are pending.
