MORRISTOWN, Tenn. (WVLT) - Hamblen County Sheriffs took a man into custody they say struck an officer with his pickup truck and evaded officers.
While investigating a possible rape, Hamblen County Sheriffs approached a green pickup truck driven by the suspect when the driver sped off and hit an officer and gave chase.
The driver of the pickup wrecked and fled on foot. Sheriffs found a cell phone in the vehicle and were able to track its owner, 23-year-old Tony Ivy Jr. of Morristown.
Officials charged Ivy with aggravated assault on an officer and felony evasion. No rape charges were made.
