Green beans with Lemon, Capers and Garlic Thursday, May 8, 2014


2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed and blanched
1 TBSP olive oil
2 TBSP butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1 TBSP lemon zest
1 TBSP capers, drained
Kosher salt and black pepper to taste


In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter with the olive oil. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes, and saute for about one minute. Add the beans and continue to cook until the beans are heated through, about five minutes. Add lemon zest and capers, season to taste with salt and pepper and serve.
