Sweet and Spicy Pecans Tuesday, December 18, 2007


1/2 cup sugar
2 cups warm water
2 cups pecan halves
4 TBSP sugar
2 TBSP chili powder
1/8 to 1/4 tsp cayenne (to taste)


Stir 1/2 cup sugar into water until dissolved. Soak pecans for 10 minutes. Drain. Mix remaining ingredients and toss with pecans. Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake at 350 deg about 10 minutes or until brown. Remove immediately from the baking sheet. Allow to cool before serving. Store in a tightly closed container.
