Real Banana Pudding Christmas Special

Ingredients

1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 TBSP flour
1/4 tsp salt
4 ripe bananas
1 box vanilla wafers

Directions

In a cooking pot, blend flour into sugar and then beat in eggs. Add milk and vanilla. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil over medium heat. When boiling and thick, remove from heat. Allow to cool. Layer in an oven proof bowl alternating wafers, bananas and pudding. Repeat until all are used.

Meringue:

8 oz egg whites (about 4
8 oz granulated sugar

Beat egg whites on medium speed until soft peaks form. Add sugar slowly with beaters running until stiff peaks form. Spoon meringue on top of pudding. Brown in oven set at 325 deg for 20 minutes or until meringue is lightly browned.
