Macaroni-Cabbage Fry Thursday, October 13, 2011

¼ cup butter
1 small head cabbage, chopped fine
1 small onion, chopped fine
1 clove garlic, minced
2 cups macaroni, cooked according to pkg directions
salt and pepper to taste
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
1 cup (or more) American or Cheddar cheese, grated


In a large skillet, melt butter. Stir in cabbage, onion, and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally until cabbage is tender crisp. Do not overcook. Toss hot macaroni with the cabbage. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in chicken soup, sour cream and ½ cup cheese. Heat on low for 5 minutes. Just before serving, top with remaining cheese.
