Mountain Dew Apple Dumplings Friday, March 28, 2008

Ingredients

This one is a repeat. Sent to us by Amy Shubert (who gave us the good sugar free pecan pie). I told her that I had done it before. Since then, I have had three people call me about getting the recipe. Here it is. And it is a good one.

2 cans crescent dinner rolls (8 rolls each)
2 apples peeled and cut into 8 slices each
2 sticks butter (melted)
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 TBSP cinnamon
12 oz Mountain Dew (regular, do not use diet)

Directions

Place one apple slice in each crescent triangle. Roll up from large end to small end. Place all rolled-up slices in a 9x13 pan. Combine the melted butter, sugar and cinnamon. Pour over the dumplings. Pour Mountain Dew over all. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

Amy says that you can put some vanilla ice cream on top while still warm. I personally think that might be too much.
