Strawberry/Peach Cobbler Friday, May 4, 2007


2 cups fresh or frozen peaches, sliced
3 to 4 cups fresh strawberries, capped and sliced
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
Pastry from the dairy case
1/2 stick butter
sprinkle of nutmeg


In a heavy saucepan, place peaches, sugar and water and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Stir in strawberries and immediately pour into a 2 quart flat dish in which you have melted the 1/2 stick butter. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Cut the pastry into random shapes and place on top of the hot fruit. Place in a 350 deg oven and bake about 35 to 40 minutes or until bubbly and brown. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
