Meatloaf Hamburgers Wednesday, May 8, 2013


2 lbs 80/20 ground beef (ground chuck works nicely)
½ cup finely chopped onion
½ cup finely chopped bell pepper
2 TBSP soy sauce
2 TBSP BKW Original Seasoning
2 TBSP tomato paste


Work onion, bell pepper and all seasonings into ground beef working as little as possible. Shape into 4 balls. Flatten and make a depression in the center. Place on a medium heat grill which has been sprayed with cooking oil spray. Cook about 10 minutes or until brown around the edges. Turn carefully and cook until desired degree of doneness. Place on a warm bun and spoon tomato sauce onto burger. Add sliced cheese if desired. Serve at once.

Tomato Sauce for meatloaf hamburger

1 12 oz can tomato sauce
1 TBSP olive oil
½ cup onion
½ cup bell pepper
1 TBSP BKW Original Seasoning

In a heavy saucepan, heat olive oil and add onion and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onion is soft and translucent. Add tomato sauce and BKW and stir to mix. Reduce heat to a simmer and allow to reduce until very thick. Serve warm over burgers.
