Volunteer Spirit: "Baking a Difference" with cupcakes!

KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- About 1,000 cupcakes are baked daily at The Cup in Bearden for that store and the one in Turkey Creek.

There are usually 12-14 varieties to choose from daily, everything from chocolate to pistachio.

But ever since Meredith Layton started the business five years ago, The Cup has been offering a monthly special with volunteer spirit.

It's called "Baking a Difference."

April is Butterfly Fund Month.

The cupcake designated for the charity is a vanilla cupcake with light pink tinted butter cream frosting and purple sprinkles.

It's the colors of the campaign.

Fifty cents from everyone sold in April goes to the Butterfly Fund's Childhood Cancer Awareness Campaign.

Next month is Cystic Fibrosis, a lemon creme cupcake!

It's not available until May- but you can try it tomorrow at The Cup in Turkey Creek as they team up with CFF.

Organizers of the upcoming CFF walk called Making Strides and Pajama Run will be there to sign you or your team up!
