KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- Andrew Bingham will be the first to tell you he has a lot of toys, almost too many.
Instead of gifts for his 10th birthday, Andrew is asking his friends for donations for Second Harvest Food Bank to help them recover from the February 28th floods.
Andrew says, "My goal is to help everyone who doesn't have clean water and food. One day I might be like them."
His father Robert Bingham said his inspiration when came when their house flooded in 2004.
Robert says, "We woke up to 2 feet of water. It ruined all of our pictures, our clothes, all of his toys. Even the house was condemned for a while. Ever since, Andrew has always had the need to give to other kids."
Andrew's family is still having games, cake and ice cream for Andrew's party.
It is Saturday, April 2, 2011 form 4pm-7pm at Volunteer Village, 8609 Diamond View Way 37931.
Anyone is welcome, just don't forget your items for Second Harvest Food Bank!
