WEST KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- He's not a chef, but Matt Beeler can cook.

In fact, he's the creator of BKW Seasonings.

Beeler says, "The original seasoning started from a spice blend my parents came up with a long time ago and we branched out to 8 other blends, steak rub and barbecue sauces."

Beeler set up his mobile kitchen outside Food City on Morrell Road in West Knoxville to cook for the community.

"We're serving up our famous wings, chicken tenders and homemade potato chips. A three dollar donation to Mobile Meals and you get a big meal from us," says Beeler.

That essentially comes out to two dinners for the price of one.

Alison Taylor of Mobile Meals says, "Every three dollar meal someone purchases here, in turn goes to purchase a three dollar meal for one of our clients. So everyone who purchases a meal is feeding a senior a meal."

Mobile Meals is a free program in Knox County that relies on volunteers to deliver dinner to people age 60 and up, no matter their income.

"We serve close to 900 meals a day to home bound seniors, approximately 350 of those are funded by government type of funds. The rest of it is money we raise, according to Taylor.

That fundraising is volunteer spirit, what Beeler has for the town he grew up in.

Beeler says, "We try to serve to people anytime we can, we want them to taste the product obviously. This is where I grew up, so anytime I can help out the community I do that as well."

In just a three hour event, BKW Seasonings brought in $600.00 for Mobile Meals, that comes out to 200 meals for seniors!

With such success, Matt plans to cook for the community to benefit Mobile Meals once a month at area Food City stores.

The next one is set for June 20th in Fountain City.
