Volunteer Spirit: Locks of Love donor

WEST KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- 13 year old MaKenzi Wampler loves her grandfather, Marty Costner.

So much so, she cute her hair off.

Wampler says, "I'm doing it for him, I love my Papaw, he had cancer."

Marty as diagnosed With prostate cancer In January 2009.

He cherishes his only granddaughter.

Marty Costner Says, "I'm very proud of her, she constantly blesses me everyday."

MaKenzi first donated to Locks of Love four years ago, when she was nine.

Her mother Michelle Wampler says that's just the way MaKenzi is, a caring and loving young lady.

Michelle says, "Makenzi worried about him, thought she was going to lose her Papaw. She loves him so much."

Good news about Marty. He is healthy and in remission.

Hair Stylist Alisha Wilson of St. Toussaint Salon in West Knoxville did the honors of cutting and styling MaKenzi's "do."

Only so she can grow it out again.

So, in a few years it will be cut number three, for Locks of Love.

That's why MaKenzi Wampler has amazing volunteer spirit!
