KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- If you have even just one hour to spare this holiday season and want to donate it to charity, consider bell ringing for the Salvation Army.
The Red Kettle Campaign is getting underway on Monday, and volunteer bell ringers are needed.
100 kettles have been in storage and are now on the move to their holiday spots at various shopping centers and malls.
The more volunteers they get, the more kettles can be out, therefore the more money they collect and more people they can help this holiday season.
The Salvation Army collected more than $500,000 last year and bought food, clothing and gifts for more than 13,000 needy people in 6 counties.
Sign up to ring a bell with a friend, or a group of people.
You can ring as a family, group from church or work, or just friends.
Ask about adopting a kettle for a day.
There are kettles in Sevier, Cocke, Knox, Anderson, Blount, and Campbell counties.
