KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- Frank Word and Bud Cunningham often fish together, hunt together, even (with the wives) travel and eat together.

They also volunteer together at Second Harvest Food Bank.

Frank says, "I've never been hungry and I cannot imagine not knowing where your next meal is coming from."

Bud adds, "If you can see the people, the hunger, it's easy to do this."

They've been doing it every Wednesday since they retired.

But their volunteer spirit started before that.

Bud says, "Marsh, our company anyone who worked there could come to second harvest and volunteer. We had 15-20-25 employees come over here and spend a day."

The two actually grew up together, same high school, college, and even company for their careers in the insurance business.

And when asked how much longer will they give their time to the food bank... Frank says "Until they tell us to leave."
