WEST KNOXVILLE, Ten. (WVLT) -- Twice a week for four hours, 88 year old Mary Louise Evon is at the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley taking care of the pets.
She says, "I think I do more here than I do at home, I keep busy but it's good. It's better than just sitting around looking out the window."
12:48:35 "I sometimes help clean out cages, my main duty is laundry, but I also do dishes, the bowls. I clean the litter boxes."
SOUNDS LIKE A DIRTY JOB, BUT TO MARY, IT'S NOT WORK. IT'S A TREAT.
12:48:05 Mary Louise says, "Why do I do it, because I love animals."
12:50:05 Mary says, "It's a good volunteer job to have."
AND SHE DOES IT IN STYLE...
12:49:15 Michele says, "You're always dressed up so pretty!" Mary says, "Oh thank you. I guess I like to dress up a little for the animals, if nothing else, for myself."
AND IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH THEY APPROVE.
