Volunteer Spirit: Church Builders

LOUISVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- About 70 men and women from several different states are in Louisville building a 7,200 square foot home.

They are "Jack Ballard Church Builders."

They come from all walks of life, and are male and female.

Members take vacation time or time away from family during retirement to work on a project.

The pay... a simple thank you.

The Louisville home is the 97the project for the group.

In just two weeks, the home will be finished and ready to house 10 residents of the Christian Churches Disability Ministry.

Each person will have their own bed and bath, similar to an apartment, giving them more independence.

It will also have a staff headquarters.

The Church Builders bring their own tools, the only help the group may need is lunch!
