KNOXVILLE, Tenn.(WVLT)--His real name is Nabih Azzad but most just call him Ali Baba
But isn't Ali Baba's Time Out Deli closed? Yes, but there is good news, after 40 years those same recipes are now handed down to his son in law in a place called Alladin's Time Out Deli
AL Abanna who runs the place told The Tennessee Traveler,
"That made me feel special, and that meant alot to me."
Fallafals, Tabooli Salad, Baba Ganoush, hummus and King Solomon's chicken, all the great things Ali Baba's was known for.
Al said none of the recipes are written down, Ali Baba just told them to him, and won't reveal any of the ingredients.
"Abolutely, because that was my promise to him."
There are the usuals of hamburgers, hot dogs and hoagies, but it's the Ali Baba touch that you won't find anywhere else.
"Especially Saturday, it's Ali Baba day."
Driving in your neighborhood, I'm the Tennessee Traveler.
