WALLAND, Tn.(WVLT)--It's straight up 12 noon time to dust off those jeans and grab a seat.
It's about to get crowded at Becky's Grocery and Grill.
This little one room building has created quite the stir in the holler simply known as Cracker's Neck. That is if you can find it.
Owner Becky Cable told us,"People say how do you get there, we give directions, then they say we got lost you have no signs anywhere."
but I tell them we aren't on the way to anywhere, but people seem to find us.
I grew up basically in the store, my mother lives behind the store here and I grew up here since I was five years old.
Harvey cooper owned this store, it was an old grocery store".
You'll still see ghosts of Vol pasts on the shelves now, but it's the grill that really brings 'em in. Like their soon to be famous monster burgers with cheese, bacon, jalapenos, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard, ketchup and pickle.
Then there are the animals on the walls including a big old hog she bagged.
"It was good eatin' too!"
One thing you can't go without is Becky's homemade desserts like the dreamsicle cake or the earthquake cake. It's German chocolate with cream cheese filling.
So when you're wandering around Blount County stop in for a bite.,
I've had alot of kids say, it's like grandma's house!"
You can find Becky's Grocery and Grill at 3858 Laws Chapel Road in Walland. Her phone number is (865) 379-6121.They are open Wednesday through Saturday.
