SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – One of the men arrested after robbing a Sevierville CVS was wanted for other charges in South Carolina.
Sevierville Police say all three people involved in the robbery of a CVS Pharmacy have been arrested after two of them were released from the hospital.
Sevierville Public Information Officer Bob Stahlke says police were called to the CVS Pharmacy at 718 Winfield Dunn Parkway in Sevierville at 4:30 for an armed robbery.
A suspect armed with a handgun forced the pharmacist to the floor and took approximately $21,000 worth of controlled narcotics, while a second accomplice assisted him. A good citizen observed the two men running out of the store and get into an awaiting vehicle.
Detective Kevin Bush says officers spotted the get away vehicle on Highway 66, attempted to stop the car, but it didn't.
Stahlke says officers followed the car down the highway until it crashed around 4:40 at the intersection of Snyder Road near Interstate 40.
Stahlke says at least one person was taken into custody at the scene. Two people were taken to UT Medical Center and were released Tuesday afternoon. They were then arrested by police.
All three people are charged with aggravated robbery. Michael J. Daniels, 32, from Taylors, South Carolina along with Arthur Charles Smith, 57, from Taylors, South Carolina and Randall E. Norris, 21, from Greer, South Carolina are charged.
Mr. Smith was verified to be wanted on criminal charges by South Carolina officials after a finger print match was verified at time of booking and a hold was placed on him by the US Marshals Service.
Officers are conferring with the 4th District Attorney General’s Office regarding other charges.
