One Person Seriously Hurt in Accident on I-40 in Harriman

Harriman (WVLT) - At least one person was seriously hurt in an early morning crash in Roane County.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a station wagon was traveling eastbound on I-40 when it crossed the median and hit a guardrail, before colliding with a tractor trailer.

Emergency crews cut the driver of the station wagon, Leslie Steelman, out of the wreckage.

He was flown by Lifestar to U.T. Medical Center.

Steelman is listed in serous condition.

I-40 was shut down for several hours but is back open at this hour.
