Sevierville Bank Robbery

Sevierville Bank (WVLT) -- Police are searching for the suspect who robbed a bank in Sevierville earlier this afternoon.

The robbery happened at the Forks of the River Parkway branch of Sevier County Bank around 4:30.

According to police, the man handed the bank teller a note demanding money, and flashed a silver handgun located in the waistband of his pants.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money and the robber left the bank on foot.

Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, in his early to mid-30's, with a mustache and possibly a light beard.

They say he was wearing a dark blue mechanics outfit, matching baseball style hat and sunglasses.

There were no injuries reported.
