Ky. authorities search for missing, elderly Middlesboro man

BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WVLT) – Authorities are searching for an elderly Alzheimer’s patient who has been missing from his Middlesboro home for nearly 24 hours.

Police say Virgil Preston Emmett was last seen in Middlesboro around 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Investigators confirm his credit card was used at 7:34 a.m. Friday at a Circle K on Pimblo Parkway in Lexington to purchase gas.

It is believed Emmet may be traveling to visit family in Spencerville, Ohio. He is possibly driving his white 2003 Chevrolet S-10 extended cab pickup truck with Kentucky tags 771-CVX.

Emmett is described as 5’6”, 175 lbs with gray hair and glasses.
