Seymour Man In Critical Condition After Motorcycle Accident

(WVLT) - A Seymour man is recovering in the hospital after a late night motorcycle accident.

Witnesses say Larry Gibson was turning into the Stables subdivision on Boyd's Creek Highway in Seymour about 8 o'clock Sunday night when he was hit by a car.

The accident shut down Boyd's Creek Highway for about an hour and a half while T.H.P. officers investigated the accident.

Gibson was flown to UT Medical Center by Lifestar where he is listed in critical condition.

Ihave lived in Seymour for 22 years and the people driving on the back roads don't obey the speed limits that are posted. We need more resoures to help control the speed laws.

My wife works near there, and a co-worker was late to work because of this accident. He said that the van that hit the rider was going about 80 mph according to an officer on the case who did the skid analysis when the van struck the rider Larry Gibson. He also said that the rider could be heard screaming in pain over the sirens and all. I used to work at The Stables on Boyd's Creek, and I can atest to the way people drive there, and they almost always drive too fast from my experiences.
