Campbell County Wildfire Contained

JACKSBORO (WVLT) A wildfire in Campbell County is contained this afternoon, but not yet under control.

Department of Forestry firefighters say it started when a resident was burning some brush on Cumberland Mountain and it got out of control.

Crews say the terrain is so rugged, they were unable to actually get close to it to create a fire line.

They expect about 600 acres to burn before they can get the fire under complete control.

No homes have been evacuated and no one has been injured.
