(WVLT) - Water problems are forcing several East Tennessee schools to close their doors Monday.
Jefferson County students along with students at Dandridge Christian Learning Center will get the day off due to a problem at the water treatment plant.
Authorities say a sixteen-inch pipe broke Sunday morning forcing administrators to cancel class for Jefferson County Schools.
The discharge line is used to supply water to Dandridge and Shady Grove. Crews are working to repair the problem.
Students at Knoxville Catholic High School are also getting a long weekend.
The school's principal says All Saints Catholic Church had to cut its water off Wednesday due to a leak.
That forced workers to turn off the water in Catholic High School's main academic building.
Crews expect repairs to be finished sometime this afternoon, so students should be back in class Tuesday
And a water main break in Sevier County will give some Pigeon Forge students the day off.
School administrators say Pigeon Forge Middle and High Schools will both be closed today due to the break.
