MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Three young men were charged Monday in the fatal campus shooting of a University of Memphis football player.
The three, all from Memphis, are now charged with murder in the perpetration of attempted aggravated robbery.
Police confirmed today that 21-year-old Taylor Bradford of Nashville was targeted for robbery.
They said he had several thousand dollars on him when he died, so the assailants did not get what they wanted.
Police have in custody 21-year-old DaeShawn Tate, 21-year-old Victor Trezevant; and 22-year-old Courtney Washington.
Bradford was shot September 30th shortly before police found him fatally wounded in his car, which had crashed into a tree outside his apartment.
He reportedly had won money at a Mississippi casino before being slain.
Police said more arrests are expected.
