Man Arrested in Connection with 2 E Tennessee Bank Robberies

Lake City (WVLT) – Federal agents along with the Knoxville Police, Clinton Police and Lake City police have arrested a Powell man for two area bank robberies.

Shawn Michael Pompa, 28, was taken into custody Tuesday night at the Blue Haven Motel in Lake City.

Pompa is charged with robbing the Y-12 Federal Credit Union at 6640 Clinton Highway on September 25th and the Regions Bank at 245 N. Main Street in Clinton earlier Tuesday.

The case will be tried in federal court, with his first appearance coming Wednesday afternoon in front of a U.S. Magistrate.
