Monroe County Man Arrested For Drugs, Weapons

Sweetwater (WVLT) – A Monroe County man was arrested Tuesday night on drug and weapons charges.

Mitchell Scott Anderson, 26, Sweetwater was being questioned by Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies when he gave them permission to search his house at 219, Bethlehem Road.

During the search, investigators found a loaded .38 caliber pistol, $18,000 and one pound of Marijuana.

The Sheriff’s office says Anderson has a history of drug and other charges.

He has been charged with Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and Possession/Sale/Delivery of Marijuana equaling 1 lb or less.

Anderson posted a $9,000 bond and was released early Wednesday morning.
