MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) -- Police are searching for suspects in two unrelated assaults on students on Tennessee college campuses.
A man allegedly tried to kidnap a woman walking through a parking lot on the Middle Tennessee State University campus Monday afternoon.
Meanwhile, a female East Tennessee State University student was assaulted by a masked individual Monday night.
Both universities have asked students to avoid walking alone. They each offer campus escort services for solo walkers, and this year, MTSU implemented a text-messaging system that alerts students.
