Hamblen County Deputy Fired After DUI Arrest

Hamblen County (WVLT) -- A Hamblen County Deputy has been fired after winding up on the wrong side of the law.

Kenneth C. Haynes, 26, is charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident after the car he was driving left the road and hit a utility pole.

It happened around early Thursday morning around Peachtree Street.

Officers found Haynes walking down East Andrew Johnson Highway a short time after the crash.

Before coming to the sheriff’s department, he worked as a corrections officer with the county.

Hamblen County Sheriff Esco Jarnigan fired Haynes this morning for conduct unbecoming an officer.
