Knoxville (WVLT) – A former Knoxville nurse has been indicted by a Knox County Grand Jury for Willful Abuse of an Adult and Simple Assault.
Frances Jo Fox, 41, Powell worked at the NHC Nursing Home in Downtown Knoxville.
An investigation by the TBI’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit recently discovered that last November, she physically assaulted an 81 year old dementia patient who was confined to a wheelchair.
The incident lead to Fox being fired and last month, the Department of Health suspended her nursing license.
She will appear in court Friday to answer to the two charges.
