JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (AP) -- Police have arrested two people in Jonesborough on drug charges after a postmaster became suspicious of packages being delivered to them.
A drug dog sniffed out a parcel in Knoxville and a postal inspector made the delivery in Jonesborough.
When Dennis Coffie signed for it yesterday, Washington County deputies arrested him and Karen Bennett, who lives in the same house. Police found another pound of marijuana in the house along with the six pounds just delivered.
Coffie and Bennett are both charged with possession with intent to distribute and conspiracy to do it. Authorities say the package was the third sent to the same address, each from bogus addresses in Texas.
