Nashville Police Kill Man In Domestic Disturbance Call

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Police said two officers shot and killed a Nashville man in self defense after they responded to a domestic disturbance call.

Nashville police said Alejandro Reyes Ayala was shot yesterday after he charged at two police officers with a large knife.

Officers Jackson Smythe and Kevin Coleman have been placed on administrative assignment while police finish their investigation.

Police said Ayala ignored repeated warnings by the officers and was shot when he came at them a second time. He later died at a Nashville hospital.
