Oak Ridge (WVLT) - A criminal affidavit details just how savage the attack was on the brother of a WIVK/WNOX newsman's brother.
Jonathan Grider, 19, remains is serious condition at UT Medical Center tonight.
Meanwhile, the man charged with attempted first degree murder, Brandon J. Paul, of Mead Lane in Oak Ridge, is in jail in lieu of a half million dollar bond.
Paul was arrested at a Knoxville motel just after 3:00 am, Wednesday morning.
According to court documents, Oak Ridge Police officers say Paul struck Grider with a brick and slashed him with a knife.
Grider's brother Michael Grider says his brother was stabbed or slashed more than a dozen times.
Michael, a reporter for WIVK/WNOX says his brother is doing better today.
Police say Jonathan Grider's car was also stolen.
It was recovered in the Karns area late Tuesday night.
