CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Marine Corps says a Clarksville Marine died in an apparent drowning in Japan.
Gunnery Sergeant Chad Love died Saturday while scuba diving near Manza Point in the East China Sea near Okinawa. The incident is being investigated.
Records show the 34-year-old Marine joined the Corps in May 1992 and was promoted to sergeant in February 2004. He was assigned to the Combat Assault Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Camp Courtney on Okinawa.
