Update: First Baptist Concord Expansion Approved

Farragut, Knox County (WVLT) - First Baptist Concord in Farragut will be adding on a student building on their current campus.

That was decided Thursday night at the Municipal Planning Commission meeting where the proposal passed unanimously.

Residents voiced their concerns about the additional traffic and the impact the expansion will have on their property values.

Dozens of church members told commissioners why they need two new student buildings, a gym, two worship centers and classrooms.

The church plans to have their master plan presented to the commission by December.

The expansion should be completed by summer of 2009.
