NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Country music singer Porter Wagoner is hospitalized in serious condition, his publicist said Thursday.
Darlene Bieber said the Grand Ole Opry star "is asking for prayers from his friends and fans."
She said she had no other information.
Wagoner, 80, known for his rhinestone stage outfits, helped launch the career of Dolly Parton by hiring her as his duet partner.
In May he celebrated his 50th year on the Opry, the long running live country music show.
