NEW DETAILS: One Person Killed In Anderson County Trailer Fire

Medford, Anderson County (WVLT) - The Anderson County Sheriff's Department has identified the man killed in an early morning fire Tuesday.

When firefighters from Medford, Marlow, and Claxton Fire Department reached the scene around 3:30 a.m., the mobile home was engulfed in flames.

It was located on Belmont Lane off Carroll Hollow Road in the Carroll Hollow Trailer Park.

Anderson County deputies say attempts to rescue a disabled, wheelchair bound man trapped inside, were unsuccessful.

Kenneth Kyle Collins, 36, of Clinton, died in the fire.

A neighbor was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

The preliminary investigation shows the fire may have been accidental.

"Right now, the state bomb and arson investigator is here on the scene," said Claxton Fire Fighter Richard Pollard. "Since there is a fatality, we always call the state in."
