East Tennessee Man Held On Drug Charges Is Wanted By Feds

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (AP) -- Washington County Sheriff Ed Graybeal says a man arrested on drug violations is also being held for federal authorities.

Dennis Coffie of Jonesborough was arrested October 12th on several drug violations.

Graybeal says his office found Coffie was on parole from a federal bank robbery conviction.

The sheriff says investigators contacted the U.S. Marshal Service and there is now a federal detainer has been placed on Coffie, who will become a federal inmate after state charges are dispensed with.
